CUSCO

The city of Cusco was founded, according to legend, by Manco Capac, at an undetermined time in history.

Cusco is considered the archeological capital of Meridian America, with innumerable and interesting vestiges of the Inca civilization.

Of great interest are the constructions of the colonial era, all of the same style: the cathedral, constructed from materials extracted from the ancient battlements and palaces, which guards riches of considerable value. Another church of great interest is the Santo Domingo, constructed on the walls of the Sun Temple, called Koricancha.

Cusco is also characterized by its large buildings, by its interior courtyards, surrounded by narrow winding streets, small squares and hidden corners, where there are various remains of constructions prior to the conquest.

Next to the city you will find the ruins of Tambomachay, Puca-Pucara, Quenko and Sacsayhuaman.
